Presentation10/5 Miles. Maó City
The 10/5 Miles City of Maó is more than a sporting competition, it is a race that passes through time, the route of which will take place amidst the historic and natural heritage of the island of Menorca, Biosphere Reserve.
This initial 10/5 Miles City of Maó aims to be a nod and a wink to the British tradition which has formed part of this territory, on unusually being measured in miles, the English length measurement, and not in the usual kilometres. The fact is that for over one hundred years Menorca belonged to the British Crown and as a result of this influence, some very close links have remained everlasting through culture, architecture, gastronomy and even language (there are words of English origin included in Menorquín).
The fourth edition, like the previous ones, will be the Port of Mahón, the largest natural port in the Mediterranean, the Fortress of La Mola and the Naval Base, which will reopen its doors to race through it to the Isla Pinto. With the finish in the heart of the port, the men’s and women’s winners will be rewarded with one of the most authentic treasures of this land, a pack of Mahón Cheese of ten and five kilos, depending on the race they have run.
