Es Pujols will host tomorrow, Saturday, October 2, the celebration of the eighth edition of the Triatló Illa de Formentera, which will be held again after its suspension last year due to the pandemic. In this edition, a new participation record is broken, with more than 300 triathletes between the two types of competition: Sprint and Olympic. At the same time, the test will also be the Balearic Olympic Triathlon Championship in both male and female categories.
The Sprint modality (750 meters of swimming in front of Es Pujols beach, 20 km. By bicycle and 5 km. Running) will begin at 2.15 p.m., while the Olympic (1,500 m. Swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km race on foot) will start at 4:00 p.m. In the first modality there will also be a team test. The goal of both competitions will be located in Plaça d’Europa in Es Pujols, where from 9:30 a.m., participants will be able to remove their numbers and the furthest behind will still be in time to register to participate until 12:30 p.m. hours.
The event, which this year reaches its eighth edition, has the institutional sponsorship of the Consell de Formentera and the Government, through the Agència d’Estratègia Turística de les Illes Balears (AETIB), and the main sponsorship of Trasmapi.
