This Saturday, October 4th, Es Pujols hosts the 11th Formentera Island Triathlon in the Sprint and Olympic categories. This event has become a fixture on the national triathlon calendar and will bring together more than 350 local, national, and international athletes this year, many of whom choose Formentera to conclude their season, taking advantage of the island’s excellent seawater conditions and pleasant temperatures at the beginning of autumn.

The event is once again held in two categories, depending on the distance covered by the participants. In the Sprint category, which starts at 2:15 p.m. and is also open to team competition, athletes must cover 750 meters in the water, 20 kilometers on a bicycle, and 5 kilometers on foot. The Olympic competition will begin at 4:00 p.m., with participants competing in a 1,500-meter swim, a 40-kilometer cycle, and a 10-kilometer run. This year, as in 2023, this event will also be the Balearic Islands Championship for this event.
This event also has financial support from the Balearic Islands Government through funds from the Sustainable Tourism Tax.
The deadline for online registration is tomorrow, Thursday, October 2nd. However, in-person registrations will also be accepted at the race start on Saturday.
